The Operations Department of Anthony Wayne Local Schools currently oversees the maintenance and plant operations of six schools, Administrative building, Transportation compound, Maintenance facility and various athletic facilities. These facilities contain over 340,000 square feet of space on over 230 acres of grounds.

The Director of Operation's works with District Administration and the Superintendent. He/she supervises and evaluates Operation's Supervisors and other personnel. The Director of Operations directs district-wide buildings and grounds services including facility use, custodial services, maintenance and repair, preventive maintenance, project management, contract and vendor management, construction and contractor oversight, energy management, safety and health program compliance, and long-range facility and equipment planning.

The Operation's Secretary assists with the day-to-day operations of the maintenance staff including processing departmental paperwork and payroll, answering telephone and radio calls, dispatching appropriate personnel to buildings for repairs and maintenance, and coordinating district delivery.

The Maintenance Supervisor work with the Director of Operations. The Maintenance Supervisor supervises and evaluates maintenance and grounds staff. The current District Maintenance Supervisor is a "hands-on" supervisor and deals with repair, maintenance, preventive maintenance and operation of HVAC and mechanical systems throughout the District. He also manages grounds maintenance, snow removal, and athletic field maintenance throughout the District. He participates in the evaluation and planning for facility and equipment replacements and upgrades, and monitors contracted work.

The Custodial Supervisor works with the Director of Operations and Maintenance Supervisor. The Custodial Supervisor works to supervise and evaluate custodial staff. She helps to ensure all AW facilities are clean, sanitary and safe for learning and working. She monitors district wide facility use and activities by inside and outside groups, and schedule/coordinate personnel for preparation and clean up for activities. The custodial supervisor also helps administer safety and health programs, fire safety inspections, and health department issues.
