Public comment is welcome on the proposed budget for the expenditure of Title VI-B funds granted to Anthony Wayne Schools under the provisions of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. These moneys are used toward the education of identified disabled students and are typically used in the district to pay for certified staff, instructional materials, professional development, and equipment. Public comment is sought on the proposed budgets for the expenditure of Title I, Title VI and Eisenhower funds granted to the Anthony Wayne Schools under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act. Title I moneys are typically used to provide remedial instruction. Eisenhower funds have been used to promote math, social studies, language arts, and science instruction; and Title VI grants have traditionally supported staff development and technology. In accordance with federal and state law, public school districts are attempting to identify children with disabilities, birth through age 21, who may require special education services. Anthony Wayne provides evaluation of children with suspected disabilities and educational services for children identified as having a disability under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act. Many unidentified children with disabilities are preschool age. If you know of a child who is suspected of having a disability, contact the school principal or Assistant Superintendent, 9565 Bucher Road, Box 2487, Whitehouse, Ohio 43571.

Anthony Wayne Local Schools also comply with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974, which gives the right to examine your child's official records. Student Names, addresses, and phone numbers are not considered confidential information. Any parent/guardian wishing to have their child's name, address, or phone number deleted from district and/or building directories which are published at various times during the school year, may do so by notifying the child's building principal.
Anthony Wayne also complies with Title IV of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973. Inquiries regarding these laws may be directed to the Assistant Superintendent.
Section 3313.94 of the Ohio Revised Code requires each public school district to prepare and distribute an annual progress report for the schools under its jurisdiction. The Anthony Wayne Local Schools Annual Report is published in compliance with that requirement. The costs of publishing this report were paid from the Anthony Wayne Local Schools general fund.
